THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT VIEWING VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE

Youtube has developed a flash format that permits connections of different speeds to view videos in several qualities or resolutions: 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p.
Sometimes you might experience an unexpected pause. This might be caused by viewing the video at a higher quality than your connection speed can give you.
If this is the problem, look on the video taskbar on the right side (shown in the picture below) and change the viewing quality to a lower resolution. Some connections are capable of 1080, but you will see little difference if you select 360p.

MAKE SURE YOU SELECT A SPEED YOUR COMPUTER CAN HANDLE

Just because you use a fast computer does not mean you can view video in a quality resolution, you must also have a fast connection. Using a Pentium 4 processor will allow you to view at 480p. You need a Pentium D or dual processor and a very fast connection to have a smooth HD 720p or higher presentation.  If you have a fast connection and fast processor but still experience pausing, then you might have to re-install your video drivers or have your computer serviced.
